In alignment with Bay Area Public Health guidelines, masks are required for all visitors regardless of vaccination status. Proof of vaccination is not required for regular museum visits to the de Young, but is a requirement to attend some onsite events.

Book Tickets Online in Advance

All visitors are encouraged to book ticket reservations online in advance for general admission and special exhibitions. Tickets may also be purchased at the admissions desk on a first-come, first-served basis.

Wilsey Court, the de Young museum store, and the de Young café do not require a ticket for entry. 

Tickets are required to visit the Hamon Tower Observation Level, open Tuesday–Sunday from 9:30 am–4:30 pm. Admission to the observation level is included in a general admission or special exhibition ticket.

Enhance your visit to the museum by purchasing an audio tour (not included in museum admission). Please bring your own device and headphones to listen to your audio tour.

At 4:30 pm a visit to the permanent collections is free to the public and does not require a ticket. Special exhibition prices still apply.

*General admission tickets allow you to see the permanent collection and select exhibitions in the museum, separate tickets are required to view the special exhibitions.
