Comprising the de Young Museum in Golden Gate Park and the Legion of Honor in Lincoln Park, the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco are together the largest public arts institution in the City of San Francisco, and one of the largest art museums in the United States. We welcome more than 1.5 million visitors annually to enjoy an ambitious schedule of special exhibitions and education programs along with our world-class collection of 151,000 important artworks.
The staff, the Board of Trustees, volunteers, and various support groups are continuously working together to ensure the optimal utilization, display, preservation, and enrichment of this magnificent collection. Internships at The Corporation of the Fine Arts Museums
COFAM offers internships for undergraduate and graduate students throughout the year. Opportunities are available in multiple departments throughout the Museums, and vary each semester and summer based on current projects. We typically ask our interns to commit to 8-15 hours per week, depending on the project and school schedules. Our internship program offers exposure to careers in a large scale art museum, and provides mentorship and professional development throughout the program.
