Making Scenes: Friday Nights at the de Young presents a night curated by 2012 Artist Fellow Monique Jenkinson (aka Fauxnique), presented in partnership with Dancers' Group and CounterPULSE
The evening begins at the hands on art-making table, featuring a collaboration between San Francisco nightclub Some Thing’s "Project Runtover" and the de Young’s diverse Friday night audience. Child-led teams embellish outfits for Some Thing's drag luminaries, resulting in a wondrous fashion parade! (Space is limited.)
Some Thing hostesses Vivvyanne Forevermore and Glamamore (as Tim Gumm) and DJs down-E and Bear Z. Bub keep things moving.
Hands-on Art Making for Everyone continues with museum artists as usual until 8:30 p.m.
Tonight's public programs are free. Tickets are required to view the permanent collection or special exhibitions.
