Join educator, activist, and scholar Ericka Huggins to explore the context and artistic perspectives presented in the exhibition Soul of a Nation. This half-day program is comprised of a guided tour followed by a group discussion exploring the connections between the themes in the exhibition and the present day, specifically about equity and race in America. This program is designed for educators who teach 4th-12th grade and are invested in creating inclusive spaces where students can envision change. Teachers receive educator resources designed to prepare their students to view and discuss the exhibition at the de Young.
Teacher workshops are offered free of charge.
