Starting April 6, we offer free general admission every Saturday for all San Francisco residents.
Free Saturdays are about celebrating art and this city that we love. Explore the permanent collections, take a guided tour, get inspired to create art of your own at our art making station.
The day will include engaging art experiences for the entire family. Enjoy access to the de Youngsters studio, family art making, gallery guides, enhanced gallery tours with discussion groups, sketching in the permanent collection galleries, and more.
Free general admission applies to both de Young and Legion of Honor.
Join poet, author, and interdisciplinary artist Leticia Hernández-Linares for a special series of poetry readings in oue permanent collection galleries.
Leticia Hernández-Linares is a poet, interdisciplinary artist, and author of Mucha Muchacha, Too Much Girl. Widely published, she is also the co-editor of The Wandering Song: Central American Writing in the United States. A recipient of four San Francisco Arts Commission Individual Artist grants, she has lived and made art in the Mission District of San Francisco for over two decades. She is a long time educator and community worker and teaches in the College of Ethnic Studies at San Francisco State University. Follow her on social media: @joinleticia
