Join Fredrika Newton in a conversation with DJ scholar Lynnee Denise on the cultural resonance of her thought partner and husband, Dr. Huey P. Newton, one of the most influential revolutionaries of the 20th-century. This discussion will follow a presentation of archival images from the Lisbet Tellefsen papers alongside a musical essay performed by Denise.

This event will be held in Koret Auditorium.

Ticket Information

General admission and special programming are free on Saturdays at the de Young and Legion of Honor for all residents of the nine Bay Area counties. Seating for this program is limited and first-come, first-served. Seating tickets will be distributed an hour before the event begins in front of the Koret Theater. Purchase of a special exhibition ticket is required on this day to see Soul of a Nation.
