Flowers become art as Gilliam creates stunningly beautiful arrangements. Known for her imaginative mastery of arrangements and her clever and effective techniques, Gilliam demonstrates and visually discusses how flowers inspire art and how flowers and floral arrangements become art. “Love of flowers” and “flowers to love” are themes expressed throughout art history and continue into modern times. Gilliam shows us how her inspired passion for flowers unleashes artistic expression. Currently featured in The Flower Arranger magazine, Gilliam’s work is nothing less than thrilling.
This year’s programs include four engaging demonstrations on flowers. The ticket price for each program is $50 and includes general admission to Bouquets to Art. All events take place at the de Young museum.
Note: To keep flowers as fresh as possible, the temperature of the Koret Auditorium may be cooler than usual. Please dress accordingly.
The Bouquets to Art 2019 programs are jointly underwritten by Eileen Holl, Kate and John Sullivan, the Belvedere-Tiburon Auxiliary, East Bay Auxiliary, Hillsborough Auxiliary, and Ross Auxiliary of the Fine Arts Museums.
