de Young with projected poetry

de Truth artist rendering by Illuminate

Every night in December, experience de Truth, a projection of giant scrolling lines of poetry across the entire 450-foot-long facade of the de Young museum, with new poetry nightly. The installation, by Illuminate, is part of the The Alterverse, a family-friendly celebration of poetry and light, and Winter Lights, which includes free activations throughout Golden Gate Park all December long.

On Friday, December 3, from 6 to 7:30 pm, join current and former SF Poet Laureates in “A San Francisco Poet Laureate Tribute” at the Golden Gate Bandshell to honor laureates we’ve recently lost. The poems featured will be simultaneously projected on the de Young’s facade. Featuring devorah major (honoring Janice Mirikitani), Alejandro Murguia (honoring Lawrence Ferlinghetti), Kim Shuck (honoring Diane di Prima), and Tongo Eisen-Martin (honoring Jack Hirschman).
