Behind-the-Scenes Tour of the Collection

Leadership Circle donors are invited to a special evening with the departments of American Art and Registration and Collections Management for a one-of-a-kind experience that will help answer such questions as: where do our favorite paintings go when they are not on public display?; and, how does one properly store an artwork made up of hundreds of glass marbles?
Following a cocktail reception in Wilsey Court, guests will view recently installed works to illuminate the Museums’ acquisition process and collecting strategies, then take a guided tour of the art storage facilities to get a glimpse of where the American art collection resides, providing insight about the behind-the-scenes realities of San Francisco’s cultural treasures.
