Individuals who give to the Museums at the Friends, Patrons or Museum Associates levels support the Annual Fund which provides for our exhibitions, education programs, and the care of our collections. Along with exclusive benefits, donors enjoy the satisfaction of knowing that they are supporting one of the premiere art museums in the United States.

Individual Giving Levels and Benefits

Friends ($1,000–$2,499)

Donors receive the following exclusive privileges:

Invitations to exclusive opening events, lectures, and gala receptions for major special exhibitions.
Priority reservations for VIP docent tours (for 4-6 people).
Invitations to two annual day trips featuring visits to private art collections, artists’ studios, and museum in the greater Bay Area.
Invitation to the Annual Donor’s Event, featuring a distinguished guest speaker.
Recognition in the Annual Donor’s Event Program and on the Annual Fund Donor Walls in both Museums.
Unlimited free entry for you and four guests to both Museums.
Free admission to more than 100 museums in the North American Reciprocal Program and the Western Reciprocal Membership Program.
Discounts at the Museum Stores on all merchandise.
Complimentary subscription to Fine Arts magazine, featuring exhibition highlights and a calendar of events.

Patrons ($2,500–$4,999)

Donors receive the following exclusive privileges:

Exclusive annual opportunity to explore an artistic and cultural treasure of the West Coast with a museum curator.
Annual invitation to a special reception, visit to a private collection, or exhibition viewing exclusively for Patrons and Museum Associates.
Listing in Fine Arts magazine.
All other benefits listed above.

Museum Associates—Curator’s Circle ($5,000–$7,499)

Donors receive the following exclusive privileges:

Opportunity to travel with the Museums to explore artistic and cultural treasures in the United States and abroad.
Annual invitation to an exclusive black-tie event, hosted by the Director.
All other benefits listed above.

Museum Associates—Curator’s Gold Circle ($7,500-$9,999)

Donors receive the following exclusive privileges:

Separate listing in our Annual Donor’s Event Program, in Fine Arts magazine, and in the Museums’ Annual Report.
All other benefits listed above.

Museum Associates—Chief Curator’s Circle ($10,000–$14,999)

Donors receive the following exclusive privileges:

Opportunity to hold an at-cost event in the Nancy B. and Jake L. Hamon Tower at the de Young.
Priority reservations on Director-led international trips.
All other benefits listed above.

Museum Associates—Chief Curator’s Gold Circle ($15,000–$24,999)

Donors receive the following exclusive privileges:

An invitation to a private reception and curatorial walk-through, prior to an exhibition opening.
All other benefits listed above.

Museum Associates—Director’s Circle ($25,000–$49,999)

Donors receive the following exclusive privileges:

Exclusive walk-throughs prior to exhibition openings.
Lunch with the Director of the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco.
Opportunity to hold a private event in the de Young or Legion of Honor at cost.
Private tour of the conservation labs with a conservator (for up to 12 people).
Private tour of a special exhibition with a curator (for up to 12 people).
All other benefits listed above.

Museum Associates—President’s Circle ($50,000 and above)

Donors receive the following exclusive privileges:

Listing at the Museums’ highest category of giving on all publications, donor walls, etc.
Recognition as a patron or sponsor of a major exhibition or program.
Unique opportunity to create a custom experience with the Fine Arts Museums.
All other benefits listed above.

All donors who upgrade will be invited to a special event with the Director of Museums.
