From 2011 until the program concluded in 2015, the de Young Artist Fellows shared their ideas, works in progress, collaborative projects, finished artworks and final productions with museum visitors and community members.
The de Young received its second Innovation Award from The James Irvine Foundation, which enabled the museum to invite multidisciplinary artist fellows to work onsite at the de Young and offsite, sharing their ideas, works in progress, collaborative projects, finished artworks and final productions with museum visitors and community members. In this yearlong program, highly regarded community arts organizations joined forces with the de Young in presenting artist fellows who created new work to share at the de Young, other local venues, and online.
