de Young Artist Fellows create and premiere new works at the museum and around the San Francisco Bay Area as part of a yearlong fellowship. Hosted by collaboarting partner Stags' Leap Winery Sarah Wilson wrote new compositions inspired by the stunning Napa Valley setting. Some of these new compositions will be performed for the first time at the Red Poppy Art House in February. Read more about the inspirations behind the new music.

Tickets are $12-$20 at the door at the Red Poppy located at 2698 Folsom Street at 23rd. Doors open at 7:30 p.m.

All proceeds from this event go toward the Red Poppy Art House, an artist-driven non-profit organization.

The Artist Fellows program has been generously funded by The James Irvine Foundation’s Innovation Fund. 

Wilson's original work has premiered internationally and earned numerous commissions including a 2010 Artistic Innovation Grant from The Center for Cultural Innovation (CCI), and a prestigious 2011 Composer Collaboration Award from the Wallace Alexander Gerbode Foundation and The William and Flora Hewlett Foundation. Her Red Poppy concert will premiere music commissioned by CCI and the Zellerbach Family Foundation written in tribute to her Jazz mentors Myra Melford, Laurie Frink and Carla Bley.
