Facilitated family tours of permanent collections and current exhibitions are followed by studio workshops taught by professional artist-teachers. At the de Young, classes explore a variety of themes based on the permanent collections and exhibitions, including Get Crafty with Your Art: The Arts and Crafts Movement, Contain Your Enthusiasm: Safe Havens for Your Treasures, and Miniature Marvels. Programs from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. are open to the public. Members only programs are from 12:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Children under 8 years old must be accompanied by an adult. Saturday classes are free after museum admission; a special exhibition surcharge may apply for adults to accompany the tours of certain sessions.
Space is limited and available on a first come, first served basis. Sign in 15 minutes before the start of class. Programs begin promptly—no late admittance.
