Bay to Breakers this Sunday

Please Note: The annual Bay to Breakers footrace takes place this Sunday, May 19 and we recommend you allow extra time for your visit to the de Young and Legion of Honor. The race route runs directly by the de Young on John F. Kennedy Drive, so parking and travel times to the museum will be affected. Saturday and Sunday Street Closure

John F. Kennedy Drive in Golden Gate Park will be closed to traffic from Tea Garden Drive to Transverse Drive on Saturdays, beginning April 6, 2013. Sunday street closures will continue as normal. Street parking within the park on Saturdays and Sundays is limited. Visitors are encouraged to use the Music Concourse Garage and to take public transportation or bike to the museum.

The de Young Museum, a favorite of San Francisco residents and visitors since 1895, is located at 50 Hagiwara Tea Garden Drive in the heart of San Francisco's Golden Gate Park.

The de Young is closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Days.

The Hamon Education Tower Observation Deck closes at 4:30 pm (8 pm Fridays from late March through November).

Admission tickets to the de Young include same-day general admission to the Legion of Honor (special exhibition fees not included).

Public Transportation Discount

Muni riders with proof of public transit purchase receive a $2 discount. This discount is available in person at the time of purchase only, and does not apply to internet sales.
