"Teotihuacan Murals: A Lasting Legacy," a talk with Lesley Bone, Head Objects Conservator for the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco and Javier Manrique, November Artist-in-Residence
Gallery 3 (Teotihuacan murals gallery)
Why have the Teotihuacan murals survived? Why do craftsmen make things to last beyond the time for which they were intended, and what has made these murals endure and become iconic works at the de Young? Lesley Bone will address these questions and engage November Artist-in-Residence Javier Manrique in a discussion of how the Teotihuacan craftsmen have influenced his own process and philosophy.
