Passion for Color and Poetic Metaphors
In celebration of Richard Diebenkorn’s passion for light, color, and shapes, the Consulate General of Mexico presents activities for the public to participate in.
Studio. Master. Students.
Diebenkorn's passion for teaching is well known; through the years he touched the lives and careers of many budding artists. The Piazzoni Murals Room showcases the importance of the relationship between master and pupils with a pop-up show by local painters of Mexican descent.
The search for new languages in post-revolutionary Mexico led to the creation of the Maugard method. Named after its creator, Adolfo Best-Maugard, the Maugard method helps children learn how to draw and painting by focusing on simple forms than one can find in nature.
Public programs are free and open to the public.
