Ensemble Parallèle presents “Love, Obsession, and Death”: excerpts from the Philip Glass opera Orphée
This work, recently described by the New York Times as one of Glass’s “most inspired works” and a “mythic modern opera,” is based on Orphée, Jean Cocteau's famous surreal film of 1950. “Love, Obsession, and Death” will take you through a surreal operatic journey with narration, music, video projection, and sideshow acts. Come and experience contemporary chamber opera as upper and under worlds collide.
