Lecture: "Authentic Gaultier: Creativity—Technical Rigor and Haute Couture Mindset," Nathalie Doucet

The Textile Arts Council presents Nathalie Doucet, president and founder of the San Francisco–based nonprofit Arts of Fashion Foundation. Ms. Doucet will speak about the arc of M. Gaultier's career from assisting Pierre Cardin in 1970 and the launch of his own house in 1976 to his continuing importance in today's fashion world. She will examine his wide range of influences and his extensive list of collaborations in the fields of dance, film, and music. The Arts of Fashion Foundation promotes creativity in fashion and in design education. It seeks to support emerging designers from all countries.
