Headmistress's dance-in-progress, developed in the Bay Area, Senegal, and Brazil, investigates movement rites through dream structures and cultural disorientations, building pathways out of living questions. On this night, special guest Ciré Béye, a lead member of Germaine Acogny's renowned Compagnie Jant-Bi from Senegal, will make his U.S. premiere as a soloist.
 
Artist Fellow Todd T. Brown presents a series of performances and panel discussions with Red Poppy Art House resident artists and special guests as part of his fellowship at the de Young.
