The Goat Family and Atlas Obscura

Instruments from the Goat Family

The Goat Family began as a group of filmmaker friends who gathered weekly to play original and traditional music on homemade instruments. Over the years it has grown into an energetic rhythm machine that combines avant-garde film projections with rump-shaking sing-alongs. On August 2 see the Goat Family at the de Young, featuring Rock Ross, Dan Janos, Thad Povey, Chris Santeramo, and Cecil B. Feeder, and filmmaker Alfonso Alvarez projecting his 16mm and digital films.

The evening is hosted by Ben Burke.

Also in Wilsey Court, Atlas Obscura presents a look at the wondrous world of urban exploration in San Francisco. View a recent work by the Urbanauts, Sean Orlando and Rebar's Matthew Passmore, to learn more about their investigations over the past year.
