We are proud to present 2011 de Young Artist Fellows Todd T. Brown, multidisciplinary artist; Kevin Epps, filmmaker; and theater group Campo Santo as they create new work that will premiere at the de Young and throughout San Francisco this fall.

Kaya will be painting a car hood, bringing Tha Hood Games from the AAACC to the de Young. Tha Hood Games ia a multimedia art exhibition and skateboard event. Jam to some tunes and see videos of skate events. Stop in the Koret for a special film screening of The Black Rock and Q&A with producer-director Kevin Epps and historian John Templeton.

Sneak peek of "Independent Artists' Week" (IAW). Join us for live painting by Rozie Firoozabadi, music by Future Perfekt and Siaira Shawn, spoken word by Ain Bailey, and a short film screening of Connecting the Dots (13 min.) by Artist Fellow and 2011 IAW Awardee Kevin Epps.

The African American Art and Culture Complex presents a snippet of the weeklong art celebration in the heart of the Fillmore next week when Infin8 Sync, LLC produces its 4th annual IAW event including BBQ for Labor Day, artist development events, the Fillmore Art Walk, a clothing swap, awards, and more! 


Join us again this fall when the Artist Fellows premiere their projects, including an original production by Campo Santo, directed by Sean San José; FAM BAM, a new documentary on the black family by Kevin Epps; and performances and paintings by Todd T. Brown.

Ticket Information

The Kimball Education GalleryArtist Studio is open Fridays, 6–8:30 p.m., and Saturdays/Sundays, 1–5 p.m. Admission is free.
