We are proud to present 2011 de Young Artist Fellows Todd T. Brown, multidisciplinary artist; Kevin Epps, filmmaker; and theater group Campo Santo as they create new work that will be premiered at the de Young and throughout San Francisco this fall.

Join the artists for salons, discussions, and presentations of their works-in-progress hosted by Red Poppy Art House, Intersection for the Arts, and the African American Art and Culture Complex.

Red Poppy Art House Salon
The Artist Salon series creates informal social gatherings in which a rotating selection of artists share brief presentations with the public and their artistic peers. 

July 15
Red Poppy Art House Artist Salon featuring Santos Perdidos, an acoustic Latin trio based in the heart of the Mission, playing an eclectic mix of son Cubano, rumba Española, bolero, and Afro-Peruvian lando. Hosted by Rafael Sarria. Santos Perdidos is Monica Fimbrez on vocals and bass guitar; Jordan Wilson on guitar, tres cubano, and vocals; and Katiana Somer Gomez on vocals and percussion.

This week we feature Red Poppy resident artist Ye Ye Suarez. Hosted by Rafael Sarria. "A theater, music, dance, and storytelling project that uses movement and rhythm from the African diaspora and Latin America to preserve the people's history and speak of issues affecting the community" - KPFA Full Circle

Join us again this fall when the Artist Fellows premiere their projects, including an original production by Campo Santo, directed by Sean San José; FAM BAM, a new documentary on the black family by Kevin Epps; and performances and paintings by Todd T. Brown. 

The studio is open on Saturdays and Sundays from 1–5 p.m. View works-in-progress from Inheritance: an exhibition of mixed-media works by Todd T. Brown with an opening reception on September 16 and artist talk on September 21.
