Join us for this popular event where designers (students and professionals) showcase beautifully designed and cutting-edge fashions from discarded clothing. de Young Artist-in-Residence Susan Tonkin Riegel is a mixed-media artist who loves the language of symbols and archetypes. Her spontaneous and intuitive process records glimpses of her personal life and dreams.

Arguably the greatest French writer of the 20th century, Marcel Proust was a huge admirer of Vermeer, and he wove many observations about the painter into his novel À la recherche du temps perdu (In Search of Lost Time, or Remembrance of Things Past) Some are laughable and some profound.
