Artist Fellows

The de Young is pleased to announce its recent receipt of a second Innovation Award from The James Irvine Foundation. This award enables the museum to invite multidisciplinary artist fellows to work onsite at the de Young, sharing their ideas, works in progress, collaborative projects, finished artworks, and final productions with museum visitors and community members. In this yearlong program, highly regarded community arts organizations join forces with the de Young in presenting artist fellows who create new work to share at the de Young and other local venues.

We are proud to present 2011 de Young Artist Fellows Todd T. Brown, multidisciplinary artist; Kevin Epps, filmmaker; and theater group Campo Santo as they create new work that will be premiered at the de Young and throughout San Francisco this fall. Special thanks to our collaborating partners Red Poppy Art House, the African American Art and Culture Complex, and Intersection for the Arts. This project has been generously funded by The James Irvine Foundation’s Innovation Fund.
