Monique Jenkinson brings the physicality, and presence of nightclub culture to the institution of the museum as she engages with the de Young's permanent collection and current exhibitions, specifically the textile/fashion collection and the Gaultier exhibition. Jenkinson is a dancer and performance artist whose work is informed by traditions of queer/feminist theory and the cultural currents of fashion, design and nightlife. Join Monique Jenkinson and collaborators to witness and participate as
they choreograph, write, and mastermind performances inspired by Gaultier.
Monique Jenkinson will be in the Artist Studio Wednesdays through Sundays from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m.
