In 2010, Emma Acker, curatorial assistant in the American Art department, published her article "Black, White, and Shades of Gray: Picturing Identity in Robert, Calvin, Martha and William Scott and Nurse Mila" in Making Connections: Interdisciplinary Approaches to Cultural Diversity (Bloomsburg University, 2009) and in Southern Studies: An Interdisciplinary Journal of the South (Northwestern State University, 2010).
