Club de Cultura participation offers Northern California merchants a unique opportunity to align their business with the de Young, this once-in-a-lifetime exhibition and the hundreds of thousands of visitors that will purchase tickets to the exhibition. Beginning June 11, the de Young will host an exhibition of “Picasso’s Picassos” featuring 150 paintings, sculptures, drawings and prints. Drawn from Picasso’s personal collection, these works represent every phase of the artist’s extraordinary career offering insight into his innovative working styles and transforming the definition of art.

Club de Cultura offers museum visitors a special incentive to frequent your business, and take advantage of the unique discounts and offers only available with the card. Club de Cultura cards will be given to everyone who purchases tickets to the Picasso: Masterpieces From the Musée National Picasso, Paris exhibition. Customers present this card at your business to redeem their discount or offer. All offers can be valid through October 9, 2011 and there is no cash commitment needed to participate in the program —we only need a great offer from you!

How to Participate:

  1. First, register your business online. Click here to sign up.
  2. Create a unique offer or discount exclusive to the Picasso: Masterpieces From the Musée National Picasso, Paris exhibition. Be creative! Examples could include exhibition-themed products or services, such as a Dora Maar-garita or a Surrealist San Francisco walking tour. Submit the details of your offer via the registration form. Note: All offers must be approved by the de Young prior to your inclusion in the program.
  3. Once your offer is approved, your business will receive a Club de Cultura Partner Marketing Kit, which includes window decals, posters and other materials to help you spread the word that you are a part of this program. Showcase these materials in your business so that customers will know to use their Club de Cultura card. Increase customer participation by incorporating Club de Cultura creative materials and special offers into your existing marketing efforts such as Twitter, Facebook, email communications, website, advertising and newsletters.
  4. We will support Club de Cultura with a variety of marketing tools including:
    • Listing your business in the Club de Cultura page on the de Young website.
    • During the run of the exhibition, we will highlight key offers in our bi-monthly e-newsletter that reaches more than 150,000 subscribers, and in the museum’s social media outreach.
    • Inclusion in the San Francisco Examiner’s Picasso: Masterpieces From the Musée National Picasso, Paris commemorative issue that will be distributed to readers on June 9 and to museum visitors throughout the exhibition (225,000+ total circulation—see details below).
  5. Please submit your registration form by May 18, 2011 for inclusion in the San Francisco Examiner’s Picasso: Masterpieces From the Musée National Picasso, Paris commemorative issue. Offers may be submitted after this date for inclusion on the de Young website. Updates or changes to offers are welcome throughout the run of the exhibition.
