Join January artist-in-residence John Zaklikowski as he explores the connections between art and science. Zaklikowski will delve into projects and utilize art materials aimed at the study of perception and optical illusions, and the interplay of art, science, literature, and cultural studies. A number of his large-scale assemblages and other works will be on view in the gallery.

The Art of Painting Music: Allegro (ma non troppo)

Wednesdays–Sundays, 1:00–5:00 p.m., plus Fridays 6-8:45 p.m.

Gyulai's work explores the connections between music and the expressive possibilities of paint on canvas. She listens and looks at music as a subject, object, inspiration and–like Diebenkorn–invokes the dynamic tension between the poles of abstraction and representation, creating substance from the most ephemeral phenomena.
