Ngahiraka Mason curated Gottfried Lindauerʻs New Zealand: The Māori Portraits exhibition (Oct 2016–Feb 2017) at Auckland Art Gallery Toi o Tāmaki, New Zealand. She collaborated with Nationalegalerie, Staatliche Museen zu Berlin on the exhibition Gottfried Lindauer Die Māori Portraits (Nov 2014–April 2015) Berlin and with Gallery of West Bohemia, Pilsen, Czech Republic with the exhibition Gottfried Lindauer: 1839–1926 Pilsen Painter of the New Zealand Māori. Ngahiraka is the former Indigenous Curator, Māori at Auckland Art Gallery. Her exhibitions relate strongly to old knowledge and new understandings within indigenous sites of knowledge to generate awareness of historical, modern, and contemporary art practice, exhibition making, curating, writing, and thinking. She curated the inaugural 2017 Honolulu Biennial, and lives in Honolulu, Hawai'i.
