You know that saying “It’s always five o’clock somewhere?” Well, this week it’s Friday everyday! We’re bringing you five days of Friday to showcase the amazing events taking place this (and every) Friday Night at the de Young through November 23.
Each week, we put together a stellar lineup of free programming that includes live music, artist demonstrations and art-making activities, lectures, films, and much more. These events not only engage and inspire our community, but are also a direct reflection of that community. This Friday, September 7th is no different.
Join us to celebrate this vibrant and creative city in which we all live. Every day this week we’ll be profiling one of the dynamic artists or collaborating organizations taking part in Friday Nights at the de Young, which will include live music from Classical Revolution; a video installation of Bridge Walkers by Catherine Herrera; art making with Papergirl SF, Rickshaw Bagworks, and San Francisco Center for the Book; art bikes by Public Bikes; and the San Francisco Public Library Green Bookmobile, featuring a reading list selected by Artist Fellows Laurel Roth and Andy Hope Diaz.
In addition to this off-the-charts lineup, the San Francisco Bike Coalition will provide free valet service, and the first 100 cyclists to check their bikes will receive $2 off admission to the de Young's permanent collection galleries that evening . Don’t ride a bike? Not to worry, if you have a Public Library card the first 100 visitors are also eligible to receive this discount.
We look forward to seeing you Friday, September 7th, and remember to check back daily for our Five Days of Friday all week long.
